what is ppi? I made the image 600dpi.
PPI or ppi stands for Pixels Per Inch, that is a unit of resolution of an image in ROM or in a file.
DPI, Dots Per Inch, refers to dots of ink per inch as laid down by the printer on the paper.
Many people don't grasp the difference between ppi and dpi, sometimes encouraged by unfortunate and appalling misuse of the terminology by the Adobe user interface itself. Until you wrap your head around that, you won't begin to understand the printing process.
No, you did NOT make your image "600dpi" as you think and write; in reality you defined it/made it 600 ppi. When you print, your printer will lay down the ink at a dpi density much, much higher than 600dpi, one would hope, otherwise your print would look like unmitigated cr@p.
Inkjet printers usually print at densities like 720 dpi (medium quality print), 1440 dpi or 2880 dpi for high quality prints. Most printing techniques apply ink or toner onto the printing surface, usually paper in a pattern of dots to maximize the range of possible colors. The Contone technique in contone printers varies the dot size to achieve a simulation of continuous tone.
Even your quite inexpensive (currently $128), compact Fuji Docuprint CP215w has print resolutions up to 1200 x 2400 dpi, even though it uses color-toner cartridges.

Now, if you feel like arguing, please do not respond to my posts any longer.
I find most presumptuous of you to start quibbling with my reasoned replies, when you yourself don't understand the printing process and terminology any better than if you were laying ink blobs or toner chunks out of your backside.
You have a lot of reading to do in this respect.

You do realize that you are not addressing Adobe here in these user forums, don't you? The reason I sarcastically said you must be kidding, is the gall you showed in asking volunteers who are giving of their time without charge in these user forums, to go and download two different files you created at an ungodly resolution of 600ppi. The nerve!
Why should we waste our time, and possibly money, downloading humongous stuff that is not going to help us assist you any better since most of us would not have access to your cheapo printer anyway? Geez…
