Thank you for pointing out the little preview image at the bottom of the open dialogue. I hadn't noticed it before. BUT... it only worked until I opened the first image. It wouldn't preview subsequent images.

However, downloading the Microsoft codecs was a great solution. Not only was I able to see RAW images in Elements, I was also able to see them in Windows Explorer. Perfect perfect perfect!!!
