Titler issue CS6 Lower Thirds

I'm on a Mac with CS6 Premier. When I go through the sequence to open a Titler, I get a blank gray frame but no still shot as seen in my Program window. I downloaded the functional contents too. So though I can type in the text box in the blank frame, I can't create a lower third over the still shot. Thanks for the help!
