Hello,
I have a musical theater performance that needs a little boosting of the dialog in some parts. I took a feed from the house but due to rather poor sound reinforcement/not enough mics, some dialog when away from the front mic array is somewhat weak. The music is loud enough. Thus if I raise the audio the music is also raised of course.
I just finished another program where I raised gain in certain sections the old fashioned way, section by tedious section. Then I "trial-and-erred" to try the various normalization presets and manually raising gain etc etc.
Is there an "easy button"? Can any audio post pros please outline how best to approach this kind of scenario in Audition? raise the gain dramatically so the weak dialog is alright and then normalize somehow.
I'm only familiar with the most basic functions like remove mic rumble, equalize some bottom bass until it sounds better, remove clips *which I never have except transient bangs that are fine.
Any help much appreciated.
Thanks,
wsmith
